The

Farm

You may hear Cory mention “the farm” on his social media, or during a presentation. Located just north of Edmonton, the family farm, provided an immersive playground during Cory’s youth. These literal Alberta roots cultivate his creative and artistic talents, root his designs in nature and provide him with endless opportunities to share his passion with visitors and customers. The farm has been home to his parents Ron and Debbie’s grain farm and tree farm and nursery. Today it plays host to Birchwood Meadows, a flower farm featuring over 35 varieties of u-pick flowers, numerous photographic opportunities and a charming backdrop for events and workshops. The farm is often featured in Cory’s photos on his social media and is a truly magical place he welcomes everyone to visit and enjoy.

Our Design Ethos

Our goal is always to create a place not just to work, but also to learn and grow. The idea to grow comes from the organic freshness around our space and the materials we work with. We are living growing beings that constantly need to go to the next level.

At the heart of any business is an open desire to connect. Relationships, whether they be between employees, customers, suppliers are pivotal and necessary for a company to thrive and for a designer to create. Relationships are not easy, they require time, energy, and focus. When these elements are taken into consideration, they allow the space for grow fruitful opportunities for all.

It isn’t just striving for excellence. Its hugging excellence. Recognizing that it isn’t a target but a process. A process that is exciting, exhilarating, exhausting yet deeply rewarding. It should never be confused with perfectionism. Because excellence is so much deeper. It is raw, it is powerful, it is flawed but it is magical and meaningful to all who are involved.

We all have our favourites. Because of how they make us feel. When we connect with the seasons, when we understand what each one means and its power, not only in that moment but in our life, we can truly see the beauty that stands before us. Every season, we fully embrace, not only the new beginnings, the day long bursts, but the withering decay and the slumbering with grace. Just as in life, each season teaches us that there is a beauty in every moment that can be captured and shared and you can’t have a fresh dawn without a winter’s eve, and you can’t have a new bud without a fallen leaf.

Everyone deserves joy in their lives. Design is a magical tool that can create beauty from any blank canvas or repurpose anything into a new beginning. It is imperative for us to create space for everyone. Ensuring all voices, stories, lived experiences are heard and honoured and appreciated. This approach must be lived every day and for those who have experienced privilege it is even more crucial than ever for us to find every way possible to beacon light and offer all supports and foundations for everyone to shine.

The hope of something more, and the belief that it is right around the corner. Two ends of the same thread called magic. Born in childhood wonder, the impossible come to life in vibrant displays of technicolour joy. This wonderment is finite. Lost sometimes forever. But carefully reconstructed, if only for short periods of time, where we can suspend ourselves in shimmering moment of belief and wonder and rediscover the joy of days long past and yet to come.
